Please Note: our rough created opal material comes in many forms/shapes/sizes/fire patterns/fire colors and may not look exactly like the picture shown on our site. This material is sold by the gram, not by the piece. That means that if you order 6 grams we may send you 6, one gram pieces, 1 six gram piece or anything in between. If you have a preference please let us know during checkout. We can accommodate just about any request for sizing, weight or fire color.

This is the infamous rough Black Gilson opal. This material is "rough" meaning unpolished and has flaws but still has great flash & fire. Some pieces have a semi-transparent base, while others are entirely opaque. Some pieces flash every color in the rainbow, some flash only red or green or yellow. The colors are all over the map.
